The plank is a less common exercise used to strengthen the Anti-Flexion pattern of our core. This exercise can be used as a rehabilitative exercise for certain presentations of low back pain.
How to perform the Superman:
1. Lie on your stomach on a comfortable surface
2. Have your elbows bent, hands by your side to create a W shape with your arms
3. Draw your belly button up, squeeze your buttocks and lift your arms, shoulders and feet off the ground.
4. Hold this position, whilst breathing into your stomach for the prescribed amount of time
